Puppet Shows and Gourmet Markets

A really quick post today – I just wanted to share some village events.

Most years we have a huge open air market, un vidé grenier, that spreads throughout the village and surrounding countryside. As it takes place close to Easter it didn’t happen this year.

In its place we’re having two small events. One, the marché gourmand, has taken place already. It was subdued, but a lovely little brass band played there. Here they are playing happy birthday to someone at the table next to us…

There has also been this puppet show which the children loved. I couldn’t get over how French the characters looked. I expected them to start singing numbers from Les Misérables…

I’ve got to go back and catch up with revealing the stone wall in the kitchen. It’s hard going!

La Maison du Sacre Coeur

Hi, I'm a SAHM who's moved to France with my husband and two daughters. My blog focuses on our family life & decorating our 18th century village house here. I'm scouring brocantes to find furniture to revive as well as little special somethings for our home. I love DIY and craft - sewing, painting, whatever. If any of these things interest you I'd love for you to stay and wander through the site - especially if you want to tell me what you think! God bless, Andrea
